Isn’t palm oil only used by manufacturers for its economic advantages ?
« It must be cheaper to produce than other oils. Obviously, there is a cost question involved, they’re interested in making a profit, producing as much as possible as cheaply as possible. »
Answer from Grégory Coquille, Director of Research and Development at Cérélia
« Yes, we look at the economic side of things, but we manufacturers primarily focus on the technical and technological side of palm oil. Without palm oil today, it would clearly be impossible for the raw product to have this texture and stability. So today, if we want to satisfy our consumers’ expectations, which include that we will provide a product of impeccable quality, both in terms of actual production and the finished product, we cannot do without palm oil. »
